Default short vs long torque arm

Pros and Cons?

I always thought that I would want a tunnel mounted torque arm, but not until after I installed TSP 3" true duals dumped.

Is the body mounted torque arm worth redoing my exhuast when it is a nice weather, weekend warrior car, or would the replacement torque arm with the tranny mounted relocation kit suffice?

Opinions please.

Car is a 370 (H. Comp, N/A), t-56 with Monster level 3, s60 with 4.11's.

So far for suspension I have adj. Chromoly LCA's with the roto-joints, LCA relocation brackets, QA1's w/300# springs on the front, ADJ PHB and cut rear springs with hose mod.

Getting drag radials very soon as well.

I would use our BMR full length adjustable torque arm (TA001) along with a BMR torque arm relocation transmission crossmember (TCC006). These parts will fit with the exhaust setup you are currently running and will work well for the kind of driving you are doing with the car.

My MWC short torque arm and torque arm mount fits fine with the TSP dumps. Now I dont know if his mounts are just for his torque arm but would be a worth while question to ask them. I have a short arm with the dump exhaust= win

Then I recommed ^^ that, Short arms hit the tires hard and also still have a badass exhaust set up.

"NOTE: This torque arm has been safely tested to 11.0 in the quarter mile and is not recommended beyond. These restrictions are due to the limitations of the transmission tailshaft housing mount, not the torque arm. If your car exceeds these levels of performance, the BMR Trak PakŠ or Xtreme Duty torque arm(below) is recommended to remove the stress from the transmission tailshaft."

I hope you don't mind me posting this. I like to see notes like this as guidance ... !!!!

I did some research before I chose to do the full length tq arm w/ relocation. From what I was advised unless you plan on running deep into the 7's in the 1/4 then a relocated stock length tq are is fine. Some say that the shorter one's work better, and hit the tires harder, but there are quite a crew of people running in the 8's that have no problem with them. And the short style that clear the duals have bad ground clearance....Again thats what my conclusion was. I ordered the long one, and its a freaking beast. I cannot believe how heavy duty that thing was.....GL man

I have great ground clearance with my TSP duals, Its all about who installs them and takes the time to tuck them up properly. Short arm hits tires hard, gets car to 60ft better/better ET that is the way I look at it. Either way they all work in the same fashion its up to the owner in knowing what the want out of the car. Of course this is just my opinion.

That is why I recommended a torque arm relocation transmission crossmember to be used along with the full length torque arm. You definitely don't want to push you your luck with the torque arm bolted to the transmission tailshaft housing. We have had guys run 8.60's-8.70's on this particular setup. Also this setup allows you to adjust instant center which will allow to change how hard the car hits the rear tire. Here is a picture of a 3rd generation f-body with a full length torque arm and relocation crossmember, it would be very hard to argue that it doesn't work both very well for the street and the track.
