Default How durable/reliable are Koni Shocks

I want to save some money buy purchasing some koni shocks used, with low miles on them or even unused. My problem is the lifetime warranty is not transferable.Have you guys heard of konis failing in a short time, leaking etc.I just dont want to try to save some money just to spend more.My car is a 2500-3k miles a summer good weather weekend car,so i dont plan on working these shocks all that much, but i want to lower the car,and know that i need new shocks when i do it.

Yeah I have replaced one front one after 3 yrs on the car because the adjuster was broken.

I probably wouldn't buy used Bilstein or Koni shocks unless you get a really good price on them because the warranty is useful to have.

probably a couple hundred bucks would be an educated guess. I know new the Koni's are somewhere around the $900 range. Bilsteins new are like $360

yeah it would be a couple hundred difference.Rebuilding the konis doesnt seem to be to cheap either. And new bilstiens will give me a warranty at least.I dont drive the car enough to justify the price of new konis.Maybe a few years down the road i will upgrade to them, but for now with a very limited budget i think the bilstiens are going to workour better. If koni's warranty was tranferable i would do those used all day,but not worth the risk

The reason I asked is there was a member who got SA Koni's off of a salvage car for about $20 IIRC for the set I believe a while back....I didn't know if you were so lucky!
