Talking Lowering (Spring and Shock advice/input)

Soo I'm in the market to buy some springs to finally lower my car from its stock ride height. I have been looking at BMR and Strano but I have heard from people that the rear ride height doesnt drop that much at all and I am trying to avoid that un-even look. I have heard that the "rubber hose" mod will fix that which I am planning on doing but I aaam planning on installing a Moser 9' rear end in the car in one year or so. I don't know whether to just say screw it and get Eihbach Sportlines, although I have heard that they sag over time.

Also I am going to replacing my front shocks with the install, I put KYB AGX's in the rear last summer and was wondering if I should go w the same in the front or is there a better shock for the money or a lil more?

Anyone with advice or good experience, your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Stay away from sportlines. If you are getting a 9" then I assume you already have or also want headers. Headers are not an option with sportlines. I'm actualy replacing mine today with a pro kit (only because I got them for $75)

I've had issues with my stock struts after lowering my car so make sure you take care of that.

Stock shocks, but yeah....OP, look at some better-than-stock shocks if you're going to lower your car for the front. Koni's/Bilsteins will fit the bill if you're looking for street/handling, or even drag racing, but there are better alternatives if you're looking for an all out drag car.

For the springs, don't get the Sportlines if ride is an issue at all. Strano/BMR springs lower about the same (I don't know who told you they don't lower the rear at all....because they do), but the Moser rear will make it sit higher (where the as mentioned heater hose mod might become useful). IMO, these cars look nice with a little bit of rake though

Pull the rear springs out, remove the OEM spring seat that sits on top, get some (I think 5/8" ID?) heater hose and slide it over the top of the spring (to provide a small cushion between the metal spring seat and the metal spring itself), and reinstall the rear springs. I think it's roughly a 1/2" to 3/4" drop in the rear, due to the thickness of the OEM spring seat compared to the heater hose.

Yeah I did heater hose mod a few days ago. For me it was a bad idea now the front looks grose due to the fact that I have heavy subs in the rear. Time for me to get some lowering springs.

King-good excuse to get springs but for the read why don't u use the manual air bags. I have the Air Lift kit and it works awesome, can make the rear perfectly level.

Okay cool, hows the eihbach pro-kit? Also I found some Bilstein "heavy duty" shocks, I heard heavy duty gives a real hard ride quality is this true or am I okay to get these? Thanks for all the great feedback guys

If you go for the Pro-Kit, go for the LT1 set, they seem to have less quality issues and better rates.

Otherwise, I'd go Strano/BMR

Thanks a bunch man, I found some Bilstein shocks but there "heavy duty" does that mean the ride quality is going to be rough?

lol, don't worry about the "HD", they're the same (basically) as the SLP Bilsteins, and will probably improve your ride (especially when used with lowering springs) over stock, while handling better.

HD's and SLP's are the same shock *today*. That was not always the case, but is now. I sell a set of 4 SLP's for $384.99, which is less than I can sell "HD's" for as I get a better discount from SLP. I have them in stock, and you'd be nuts to buy only fronts, or only rears because the other shocks have every bit as much wear on them... unless you figured out how to leave them at home when you drove the car.

Springs. I've been doing my springs for 5 years now. I did my springs because I felt I could do better than what was around. And I think I have, as does most everyone who has them. So good in fact it's caused others to change their spring to be more like mine. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, or so I hear. Also the spring rates on mine are a little better for the Bilstein's. I'll tell you now it's not ideal, the Bilstein's were not designed for use with spring like mine, Pro-kit, or anything else that's not the SLP springs (which most don't feel lower the car enough or cut roll enough). I also have my springs in stock.

I sell what I call HP2.. that's my Strano Springs and the set of SLP Bilstein's for $620.

Just got my Strano's in Friday. My car sits the same way it did at stock, except roughly 1.2 inches lower all the way around. I'll have pics in a few days. I LOVE the stance, and absolutely LOVE the ride and handling. This is how this car should have came from the factory. One of my friends drove it and he said, you'd never know this car was lowered if you didn't tell anyone based on ride quality. I just need to get a good alignment now.
Thanks again Sam! Great Product. Worth every cent! And like you said, wait and see how the car reacts before dumping more aftermarket parts at it. She's just perfect so far. I didn't even touch my Koni's. Hat's off!

OP said he had KYB AGX's in the rear already, I didn't think they'd be worth replacing with Bilstein's (cost vs. performance gain....especially with a heavier rear)

Hey, i have a set of the Eibach Pro lowering springs with the Strano bilsteins on it...my rear tires are 315 35 17 Nittos. My rear tires are being chewed no matter how i adjust the panhard. The passenger side seems to be the worst of it and there is no way to have any weight or passengers in the back without almost touching the tires. Is there any way to help this? I think even with the narrower tire, i will not be able to have a passenger in the back. without hitting. I love the look of the car, it is very aggressive and i would love to be able to keep the 315s in the back because they look right, but i don't want to have a blowout on the interstate either. Is there a solution to this that any of you have used? The bfh would prob help the tires, but they will still have the car sit on them at takeoff...it has def slowed my acceleration unless i baby it off the takeoff and then punch it. No more slidin sideways takeoffs for me LOL. I will take any suggestions. I got the setup from NNag on here, but he used the BMR lowering springs. Says he has had 0 troubles with the tires... are they that much diff than the eibach pros?

Thanks
F Small

Eibach are known for having spring sagging issues.
But you need to roll the fenders, do a search.
A watts link (if you want to spend the money) may help as well because it will eliminate the side to side movement of the axle that the PHB gives.
