Search this topic, its come up before. 3rd gens are supposedly easier to get more angle, but 4th gens are supposed to be more tricky.

well after some messing around i discovered that my brake calier brackets (c5 adapters) were hitting the front lca...so i made some adjusting to the arms, drilling 2 small holes so that the bracket/bolt go all the way to crank lock.

ive also ordered stuff to extend the inner tie rod end. it looks like with extended inners and some aftermarket LCA's it is going to turn considerably farther

keep us posted. the turning radius is truly lacking and a fix would brighten my ride!

im currently working on some inner tie rod end spacers should be done this week hopefully...had to get parts from the UK lol

and im putting some 1.5" spacers on the front to help clear the lca and the sway bar.

im going to be upgrading the front sway bar and switching over to tubular control arms soon too.

Added a UMI front sway bar and 1.5" wheel spacers to give some clearance.

still have to get some tubular LCA's cause the brakes are going to hit the control arms.

other than that i have 25mm inner tie rod spacers, so with that there should be another 20-25* of steering angle. i was gonna have it all done, but i blew up another 9" third member so im now waiting again lol. hopefully have this complete in a couple weeks

Building a drift specific 1996 Z28 SS Car and first topic addressing is the steering angle and increasing it dramatically. Ive been all over this post and numerous others for some time looking for options and decided to go ahead and modify the stock rack to work given the geometry is all ready there minus the limits in the actual working parts them selves...Still look forward to your results Fury and what you got to work for you since mine will take a little bit of time as I head back to Afghanistan next week for a couple of months but the machining and parts moding will be done so when I get back hopefully I can get you the results and all interested...Going for the option to be able to take a factory rack and with a little machining and a couple of mods (all cheaper then just the after market racks alone) then hopefully we can see some more of these on the track soon...

Finally found a place with the right tooling to machine the most important part I could not do myself...and locally at a killer price!...The next step will have to wait till Im back from this deployment rotation but in the 30 days I have off before I have to return I will post up some numbers and pictures as I can to show what we were able to get out of the components...A ton of additional parts have been ordered and on the way as well for install once I get back and going to be a quick break but hopefully right before the new year or a few days after "Lady Luck" should be track/test worthy and will let everyone know for sure how it goes!
