Default Good pads that aren't Hawk?

Heard a lot about hawk pads, but $160 for all 4 is a little more than I'd like to pay.

What is a slightly cheaper option that will still have some really good stopping power?

Thanks

Ya don't need them on the rear, fronts do most of the breaking. I have found them (fronts) online as low as $85 shipped.

Oh nice okay, so what should I get for the back? Or still any other good brands, maybe a small step down?

I would get a semi-metallic pad from the local auto parts store if it was me.

StopTech brake pads. By far the best pad I've ever used on any street car. No fade, great performance, and acceptable dust output. Not to mention a cheaper price than the Hawk HP Plus.

Where are you getting your pricing from? Most retailers are selling HPS pads for around $165 front and rear.

The StopTech pads will be around $140 front and rear.

HP Plus will be around $230 front and rear.

Ceramics are around the same as the HPS pads as well.

If you go with the StopTech pads, you will be pleased. I prefer them over the HPS and HP Plus and I ran both for daily use, autocross, and road racing. I couldn't use the HPS at the autoX too much, and would swap the HP Plus in. The HP Plus were too dusty for the street and made some noise. Now I have the StopTechs and they're right in the middle. Terrific on the street and had no fade after 10 laps on a road course and hot-lapping an autocross.

Not to say they're the best pad in the world. There are so many options out there, so take a look around. Just speaking from my experience.
