Has Electronic Power Steering been done in a fbody?
The new dd has electronic power steering, the wheel feels very light to control and response is good also.

I'm sure a retrofit from an another GM car would work too.
So far I know the new Malibu has it.
But just in case any kit (OEM or Aftermarket) should fail , it doesn't mean that the driver would have no control over steering while the car is moving.
You would still be able to steer, but it would be manual steering like the 1st gens...

A power rack has less so it is harder to turn with out any power assist.
I do not like the column based electrical systems.
I have seen them fail. They are a bear to man handle when they're not working. Some feel impossible. I am actually suprised they built these things honestly.
I've have had a few where it was near impossible to steer the thing into the shop due to a failure.
aftermarket, conversion, converting, electric, electronic, fbody, feel, hydraulic, kit, pinion, power, pump, rack, sale, setups, steering
