Default 5th gen Brembos on 4th gen with C5Z06 wheels install pics

Long time lurker so thought id give back. I decided to do the front Brembo swap on my 01 camaro. I had a little trouble finding all the info i needed so figured I'd start a thread with all the parts required and their prices along with pics. 18x9.5 front C5 Z06 wheels do not require wheel spacers

Parts Required/Used
-2010 camaro Brembo front calipers (make sure spindle/caliper bolts are included)- 250$ from Cleveland Pick Apart (http://stores.ebay.com/Cleveland-Pick-A-Part)
- Brake lines from kore3 Industries- 55$
- 14" 2010 Camaro SS rotors from ebay 150$
- Have the inside bore of the rotors machined to 70.7mm by local machine shop - 40$
- Hawk HPS pads- 113$ on ebay
- I had calipers painted red with white Brembo letters- 40$
- 9/16 drill bit- 15$ from Home Depot to drill out holes in the spindle

Really as simple as removing your old calipers and rotors, drilling the spindle to 9/16" holes, replacing the brake lines, putting on new rotors, bolt calipers on (the bolts thread into the calipers)

**NOTE** 18x9.5 C5 Z06 wheels do NOT require wheel spacers

Hope this helps and feel free to PM me with any questions

test fit

I wonder if these would clear my TT2's with a spacer.

Wow that looks awesome, just what ive been waiting for. How does it stop?Is this cheaper than all of the other big brake conversions, based on what you have seen?

night and day difference in stopping. Cannot tell you how much better it is than stock. Wish i would have checked stopping distances before and after to post up here. But I think it adds just as much aesthetically

I mean the rotors I got are not nearly as nice but a similar kit I see listed here for $2900 (http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...gory_Code=P016) so its definitely a way cheaper alternative.

Looks great. I want to do this but that means I'd need new wheels and tires.

how much space do you have between the deepest part of the wheel spoke to the caliper? I have the same wheel size and a 56mm offset and was under the impression they would not fit.

Looks great dude! Good to see this working out for you. We need to start a list of wheels the brembos will work with and at what offsets.....

You can run them with 17" wheels, just have to do some grinding....https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...s-17-rims.html
