If your car has Corvette calipers, a previous owner had them put on. The F-bodies didn't come with these calipers from the factory or the larger rotors they bite on to.

Be happy! You have slightly increased braking torque thanks to increased leverage and slightly larger surface area for friction and thermal distribution.

Depends on what configuration he added. Is it just the calipers? Or did he also add the bracket that allows for the larger corvette rotors?

Front C5 rotor is a 12.8" rotor...from the pics, it looks like the previous owner just added the calipers and kept the stock brackets and rotors. The C5 calipers are a direct bolt-in replacement for the f-body calipers.

Your saying that they are a direct bolt on if you use stock rotors? You don't need the corvette mounting brackets unless use the c5 rotors? How much of an improvement in stopping power do you get if you those calipers?

you only need the brackets for the rotors. the c5 calipers are stiffer than f-body calipers due to different casting technique. thats about the only difference. the f-body and c5 pad abutment brackets are not the same though.
