You may be right. Ls7 clutch may not be good enough in for a dump truck. That diamind don't look any better.

I don't think monster makes anything light.

Bottom line is a high performance car needs a high performance clutch. A road car like they are building really needs a 5.5" tilton like i have.

I will post some updates soon. The engine and transmission are all back together and the car just came back from Holley LS Fest with no issues. We also installed the Hoosier Hub's.

We are continuing to develop the rear panhard bar relocation kit, there is a ton of movement on the factory mounts we are battling. A street car and light autocross car is A-OK, Sam Strano style driving is not.

The rear end is Auburn road race with stock axles. So far all has been well and we highly recommend Auburn for this car.

Okay time for some updates.

Like mentioned above, the engine block welding (repairing the cracked block) was a success and the car has ran through two events with no issues. The clutch and transmission are working good as well.

The Hoosier hubs are working great and have given us a peace of mind, we plan to have no issues in the future. We installed the Hoosier hubs along with new C5 mounting brake brackets. The C5 brake brackets are designed by Hoosier to work with their hubs but we cut and built them here at UMI.

New hubs being installed and old hubs removed.

Here's the new Hoosier hubs with the Hoosier C5 brake adapter brackets.

Just a photo of us checking rate and bump stop rate.

New 315 Rival S's always make for a nice event.

Hubs are on along with some fresh C5 rotors.

I don't want to post a million pictures so I just picked a few from the last two events. We did the North East Muscle Car Challenge held at Pitt race and also just completed Holley LS Fest for the third year.

Our development with the rear panhard bar and some new a-arms continue at each event. Stay tuned.

Holley LS Fest

Should shave off corvette from those calipers and get the company logo put in its place with how those brakes pop in that first picture.

Waiting on the Panhard fix!! Mine is contacting the relocation bar and it does some weird things to the handling when it happens.

Update from Goodguys Charlotte this past weekend. The Camaro did really good and so did driver Jerry. On All America Sunday Jerry got 3rd fastest time and our '99 Camaro was 2nd fastest car. The top two times were in the same car, a 2017 C7. We are happy.

The car is working great and all our driving is starting to improve. We are looking forward to next season.

Thank you. Of course the Corvette was stock, but both drivers were very good drivers and had been driving the course all weekend in a older Corvette. We are happy with our progress, each event is a step forward in the right direction. We are looking forward to 2017.

At this point you guys seem to have the car squared away and getting to know how to drive it.

What are any future plans to improve performance? IMO this is a fully built front to back with every common suspension/motor/drivetrain upgrade, what else can you do with it?? LOL

I don't doubt that you guys "max out" the capability of the 4th Gen chassis when it comes to autocross.

A watts link would be next. We have some ideas drawn up, a few pieces started and Sam has talked with us about it. That would be the next big suspension modification. We will continue to develop shocks as well and may look into a double adjustable option. Still lots more cool stuff to come.

As race season gets closer and closer we are trying to get our 99 dialed in some more.

Last year we tried a different k-member with rear horizontal mounts and it didn't work as we had hoped. So we are installing a new k-member and back to rear vertical a-arm mounts. While we do the swap we are installing a new set of boxed lower a-arms and upper a-arms. Our newest boxed arms and adjustable upper a-arms both feature ball joint reposition to run more caster. Even with the ball joints moved we still struggled getting a lot of caster from this particular car. We think we have a set of bent spindles so we are trying another spindle set as well. Looks like we are in the 8-9 degrees of caster now.

Our new adjustable upper a-arm also features much more clearance over our older design and now offer equal to factory. They also offer more clearance than any upper on the market.

You guys should run the Strano/Wilwood kit and see how it does compared to the C5 kit on the track.

Why or how do you think this happened? Both sides?

The Strano Wilwood kit is a great kit, it is UMI coversion brackets with Wildwood C5 calipers. So very similar to what we are running now but a different caliper. We are currently using the C5 caliper. I *think* the Wilwood is a 4-piston fixed caliper.

Uh... not for nothin', but it's be done. Notice what the rotors look like? Because I spend two days testing different brake pads @ summit point this past November.

We discussed exactly this last week and yes I think they need to change too. The brakes are much more firm and stable vs. the twin piston setups (C5/C6 or LS1 F-body) because the caliper doesn't twist like those.
