Default Koni, UMI & ChassisWorks Install

Finally finished the install with UMI, Koni and Chris Alston pieces. The alignment was quite difficult but the work is finally done.

Which Koni shocks are those? Any more pics of that upper shock mount? Would love more details please.

components consist of UMI racing k-member, lower control arms, Global West upper arms, Hyperco 550lb springs and Chris Alston ChassisWorks upper shock mounts. Shocks are set for street right now 2 clicks from low on rebound and 1 click from low on compression. Alignment is 0 camber, .01 toe in and 6.35 positive caster. The ride and handling is amazing compared to my earlier setup with Koni yellows and Eibach springs with the same 550lb rating and factory upper mount.

Any chance you have part numbers on the mounts? I cannot seem to track them down on Chris' website.

Beautiful setup by the way. What type of use does your car typically see?

Not a daily driver but does see track time in SC on a 3 + mile road course. Call up Chassisworks and tell them you are interested in the 4th Gen fbody steel upper shock mounts. They don't have them listed individually, but will sell them to you with out purchasing the entire fbody front coil over package. Unfortunately they aren't' inexpensive either, I think I paid 180 for the pair, which also includes the grade 8 hardware.

Also I misidentified the Koni's... They are not 3011's, which were what I had originally discussed with KoniTrueChoice in Ohio. They are double adjustable 8211s . Sorry for the miscue.

Doesn't seem like a bad deal at honestly. How difficult was the install? Any modifications needed to get these items installed?

Ordered the Chris Alston shock mounts. Going to grab the GW upper control arms. You wouldn't happen to have a part number/price for the lower a arms you're running, would you? Stock brake spindle I'm assuming??

How is the shock changed from a through bolt mounting shaft like OEM to the bolt through way the upper mount changes it to and is this included in the upper mount from chassis works? Hope that made sense. Rather than the shaft going straight through the OEM mount the shaft goes into some kind of coupler that mounts to the steel chassis works mount with a sideways bolt instead...

SCJ and Rare 96,

If you don't mind, email me at jandhracing@hotmail.com and I'll send you my cell number.
I typed a lengthy response to your questions and lost it before I submitted it. I'd be more than happy to answer any question s you may have over the phone.
