Default 5th Gen Camaro brakes w/ stock WS6 wheels(pics)

Today I did my 5th gen to 4th gen break swap. Its almost finished just waiting on a few more caliper mounting bolts. This sint so much of a how to as it is just showing with the right parts the factory 17" WS6 wheels will fit and look pretty badass too.

I started off with low mile 1LE Camaro Brembo's i bought off of a member on here. I then orered the parts I would need and got started. In order for the stock wheels to work I ordered 3/4" wheel spacers that are stud centric as well as 2 1/2" longer wheel studs from ARP. The rest is your standard 5th gen to 4th gen swap. Hope you all enjoy and can see that these wheels will fit.

Thanks man! I tried to find pictures and did all sorts of research on this but never saw any WS6 wheels with it so I figured I'd post up my results.

Thats cool for sure. Do you have any far away shots on how the wheel looks in relation to the fender with the 3/4 spacer?

Not yet but I can get some. It really didn't look to bad when I set it on the ground but right now its a little difficult to tell because I also have my front bumper off for doing my turbo set up as well.

It appears the back of the caliper is polished aluminum, was this part of the caliper clearanced from it's stock form?

Yea I used a rough wheel to knock it down fast to create clearance then I smoothed it out with a scotch bright wheel. I'm kinda **** about that stuff so I didn't want any rough marks in it. Its now repainted and you can't even tell that I ground it down. The VHT caliper paint that you buy at the auto parts store match's the existing red pretty well so I just resprayed over all of it.

I'm pretty sure it should. As long as its a minimum 17" wheel and you get the proper spacer I would think it should work. The first step would be figuring out the offset of the wheel.

Stock ws6 wheels are 50mm I'm pretty sure from the research I've done. And you need a minimum 40mm offset to clear the breaks. A 3/4" spacer is 19mm so its a little over kill but I like the added clearance for safety.

I can get some for you. Yea these are the 14" rotors. I'm waiting for a stud for my QA1 that broke. Once I get that on I can get some on the ground pictures for you guys.

Here's some photos I snapped. Two from the back and one from the front showing how close it is to the spokes. There's probably about 1/4 of an inch at the closest point to the spokes. And the calipers to inside wheel is very tight but it does fit.

Not to be ****, but can you edit the title to proper English. You put on Camaro BRAKES, not BREAKS. Any search for brakes, which is what this is, will never be found. That is all.

Brakes look great BTW.

That's my bad man must of just been typing away not paying attention. I'm not sure how to edit the title. If I can have someone tell me how or maybe have an admin help me out I'd be more then happy to fix it.

Thanks man!

Brake Lines: Those braided lines look great. Were those re-used from your stock calipers or did you replace them for the upgrade? If replaced, please provide any info on the lines.

Those lines came with the brakes when I bought them. So my guess is they're stock 5th gen brake lines. They mounted right up and they do look great. They were off a 1LE so not sure if that matters or not from a standard 5th gen.
