Question Advice and or help please

Hey everyone. I have a 2002 Z28 113k. Stock suspension (shocks/coils).
CoSpeed has a deal on a panhard bar. Got it, put it in. Bam! Car was like it was on rails! Seriously! I got a set Founders lca's put them in. *** is sliding all the place in turns. Lca's were not new, but damn near.
Now here is what I am thinking of why it is sliding.....
I backed the car up onto ramps. Took old ones off then put new ones on. Now being backed onto the ramps, would this possible be the reason?
I did make sure mistake by not paying attention to where the bolts tightened down on toast compared to stock ones. I am usually pretty good about doing stuff like that.
So..... Is my theory right? Or is it something else? Everything is non adjustable.

Thanks for your time with this read and your input. I did have a grease fitting break on me! Not happy about that, but stuff happens. Only problem I had installing lca's.
Thanks for your help. Joe

Poly bushing lca's might be binding...but that being said, a panhard bar isn't going to impact handling unless your rear was way out of center so this may be more of a mental issue anyways.

Post a link to which ones you bought.
Also do some searching before buying anything, if you want to improve handling you are doing things backwards.

I agree blackandgold, might be just me. Lca's were used. I didn't think about the bushings. Taking car out later today. Get a better feel for it. I know it might seem like I am not too mechanically inclined, but it is my first time I have changed any suspension components to aftermarket...

I think a lot of people get caught up in the "if it's aftermarket it must be better hype" and start tossing random parts that aren't the best fit. The stock panhard bar is fine, it doesn't experience a lot of flex, so unless your axle isn't centered there isn't much of a performance advantage (unless you just wanted undercarriage bling, and I'm not going to fault you for that). Poly/Poly LCAs also cause a binding issue that you may or may not have issues with, it's just due to the way a solid axle moves, this *can* cause odd handling issues. Lots of people still buy them because they are a cheap upgrade and they look good.

Ok. Thank you for your input blackandgold. I just wanted to do a little something to the car. I will wait a bit to see what happens.

I experienced the exact issue that you describe after installing my Founders LCAs. They are fine control arms, but I'm going to guess that you have poly bushings. They can't articulate as needed. I pressed in some 1LE bushings in my stock arms which are just fine. Blackandgold is spot on regarding the hype of the aftermarket parts when in reality the stock arms are just fine for street use with rubber bushings. Keep us posted.

If you have the founders poly bushings you can give founders a call and pickup their 3 piece bushing set that will kill any binding issues
