Default OK Help me.

I've been trying to get a hold of the top part of the upper control arm (left & right) for my 98 Z28. Not the strut mount but the steel part that bolts to the body. I don't know what it's called or where to locate them. Anybody?????

I might know what you are talking about, but I'm a visual person. Here is a picture of all the parts that make up one side of the front suspension. The part on the left is the LCA, the bottom right is the spindle/steering knuckle, the other two parts make up the Upper Control Arm which is what bolts up to your spring/shock assembly and also to the body of the car. Is it the upper control arm that you are asking about?

The steering knuckle/spindle?

Try this link, it is to GM Parts Direct. It can list some part numbers which will help you in finding what you are needing. This link already selected "1998" and "Z28".

no the part right in the middle of the picture. the part that bolts to the upper control arm then bolts to the body.

gmpartsdirect does not show that part in the picture, they only show the actual -A- frame.

You can not buy that part individually. Trust me I know because i went to buy ones to get powdercoated when i redid the front end.

I bought some second hand off of here... too bad i donated my old ones to the person that took my stock k member off me

If I am thinking the same part, there was no luck in getting a replacement. What is wrong with the ones you have now?

No powder coating on my parts unfortunately. I simply blasted thick areas of rust with a wire brush attachment for my drill. I then soaked all of my parts in vinegar and used a wire brush to clean them off. Then put on a coat or three of primer and then painted them with satin.

OK finally got a set from a member here. Things are looking up.
I'm going to switch out all the Poly I installed years ago, although they do improve handling I'm tired of greasing them, yes even the black ones.
