I put the brace on months ago and then literally put one of dogs to sleep about an hour later, so I completely forgot about this.

I have a BMR brace, went on easily and without issue. Took about 30 minutes with hand tools.

I've just putted around on the street with it but it has eliminated the "variable brake pedal" that has plagued every 4th gen I've ever owned or driven. I've got a local autocross coming up in a couple of weeks, so I can't wait to see how different it feels "under fire" as it were.

Thanks for still making parts for these tired old f-bodies Sam.

It made a difference on my car. Kind of expensive for what it is (really had to talk myself into spending the money on it) but after you feel the difference you will be happy you opened up your wallet.

Gosh some of us would pay anything to get a firmer pedal and better braking. I think it's a fantastic part and I'd buy it at twice the price (I already did buy one). Good parts and good engineering doesn't come cheap.

Maybe it is the picture but isn't the nut and washer suppose to be on opposite side of the bracket?

Good catch. I originally installed it backwards and then had to disassemble and re install. I apparently didn't retake the picture after I re-installed it.

I have both Red and Black in stock, ready to go on Monday. The pictures attached show only the red as that shows up much better in pictures. We will have other pictures coming too.

Bottom line, if you want stronger brakes and a firmer pedal, this is a part you can't ignore. The flex in the stock firewall is a huge amount more than the flex in stock brake lines, and many of you have replaced those at a higher price than the cost of this part.

I quickly took a before/after video on this. We are editing it into one with some captions but for the time being, I wanted to get the out in front of you guys.

Video comparing before and after:

That video is horrible cant tell what the hell is going on............this part requirement makes no sense.......... Now I am curios and gonna have to check mine this weekend. I do have a soft pedal

Hope you're being sarcastic. That video clearly shows the issue and it's the reason I bought one. I had the gf press the brake pedal in my car and it did the same thing before adding the brace. Huge difference in pedal feel.

Got mine yesterday! I'd have to say the price is just about right for the construction, this piece is SOLID. After the install (which only took about 20 mins for me), the pedal is far more firm and predictable. Love it! 10/10 rating from me.

Confused. Watched the vid. Read the entire thread. The video says works with Hotchkis brace. Posts say nay. I'm looking for a polished 2006 (dreaming I know) to complete the Black/Polished theme on my car. This would be a great part IMO, but now I have to choose. Has anyone successfully moded the Hotchkis STB brackets to allow the brake brace to work?

Just installed my brace today. Felt more of a difference with the brace than when I did new pads, rotors, ss lines, and a bleed. Install only takes a few minutes, just make sure you have a T50 torx bit.

If I said it did in the video, I misspoke it will not work with the Hotchkis braces due to their mounting style.

There are other braces.... even in black.

Providing this as food for thought, as I had to work with Hotchkis braces in my second gen. The piece wrapped around the Hotchkis handle-bar is 1.25x.25" aluminum bar stock. I'm sure Sam can probably come up with something better engineered.

I'd sell the Hotchkis brace and replace it with a UMI strut tower brace.

- Easier to get to things in the engine bay
- Paint Matches the Strano Master Cylinder Brace

Why try to peer through 3 holes in a Hotchkis STB just to see your nice intake when you can have much better visibility with the UMI STB?
