Rear coil overs... QA1 vs Spohn vs Viking vs UMI
I have just about gotten everything in line to purchase everything for a mini-tub kit. I already know where I am buying everything from, except for the coil-overs. So... I need help with pros/cons of these four kits....
82-02 Fbody QA1 Single Adjustable Rear Coil Over Conversion Kit
82-02 Spohn Perf. Rear Coil Over Kit - QA1 Single Adj. Shocks
93-02 Fbody Viking Performance Double Adjustable Rear Coil Over Kit - 150lb
82-02 Fbody UMI Performance Rear Coil Over Kit w/Double Adjustable Shocks - Bolt In Kit
I am pretty sure I don't need double adjustable, but if the product quality is higher, then I'll consider them.
As of right now, I am thinking Spohn kit with QA1 shocks.

Any inputs on this thread's comments about Spohn's coilover having a week connection at the axle?

Thanks for including UMI in your poll.
Our bracketry is Race Proven on countless cars in street, strip, auto-x, and road race.
Our '99 has been hammered for a few years now on the prototype set.
We can pair them up with Vikings or our single adjustable UMI/Strano Afco's.
Let us know how you're using your car and we can make a recommendation.

The only reason that I am thinking coilovers is because I am getting a Wolfe minitub for 345/40r17 tires. I think that the minitub requires the stock spring mount to get cut back, so I'd like to just move the springs over to the shocks.
The car handling better will just be a nice bonus.
The only racing I do is drag racing, and that is maybe once a year.

Nothing wrong with QA1 but you can get a Viking with double the adjustment for the same cost. I don't like on QA1 singles how it adjust compression and rebound together, I just personally couldn't get the right street ride out of them.
Just something to think about on that. We are happy to help.

Dumb question as I haven't yet owned any of these coil overs, but do any of them have an internal bump stop (that is even possibly adjustable in height), so no need to run the factory bump stops?
Because my car is fairly low and I want to get rid of the bump stops in the tubs because my tires are already very close to there and I want to cut out that area of the tubs and be able to run a decent size bias ply hoosiers and not worry about them rubbing anywhere.
I know I can rid the bump stops altogether, but I want to still run them because I have an S60 with moser aluminum rear cover and the cover is close to the fuel tank and the bump stops are keeping it from hitting the tank on bumpy roads.
