Default Upgrading Suspension

Hi guys, I have a 98 Camaro with stock suspension and I'm looking to upgrade the shocks and springs. The car is not a daily driver just more of a fun weekend car to do some car shows with and some minimal track time. What shocks and lowering springs would you recommend for handling? Thanks for the help in advance.

I have Bilstein HD shock absorbers and Strano springs and I am very happy with the combination. The handling was transformed and the ride height is, in my opinion, just perfect.

Koni Shocks and BMR springs are a long proven combination to deliver both ride comfort and performance. The shock dampening and spring rates pair really well together to give an aggressive stance, while keeping the car from bottoming out.

If you desire more shock adjustability or different spring rates for more track oriented performance, Viking coilovers are also a good option to look into as well

Lets not pretend those are any good for a handling setup now like the OP is asking for.
If he wants coilovers hes much better off with ride tech, penskes or UMI/Strano afco's. Koni sports and your springs would be a far better combo for handling than Vikings, you can't make a non-gas charged twin tube shock handle all that well.

I've had good luck with kyb agx's with vogtlands before. The agx's have a lot of mixed reviews but to me, it gave an awesome stance with well mannered street driving. Plus the agx's are about 1/2 the cost as konis

Koni shocks and bmr springs sit good on a 26" tire? Anyone have a pic or insight?

everyone loves how the stranos sit on these cars. like literally 90% of those who like their fbodys lower think the stranos are the best stance. maybe they look different on 18s which are also popular for these cars. but i am not one of them. i think that all lowering springs are too low for these cars. anytime the space between the top of the wheel and the fender is less than the space between the left and right side of the tire i hate it. basically all lowering springs do that to these cars if running a 10 bolt. i have stock 17s, (25.66" tire) and i put the strano springs in the rear. i did this, because i have a 9 inch with larger axle tubes. which will raise the "seat" of the spring a good bit. i think thats dead nuts perfect for these cars. i then got coilovers for the front because if i ran the stranos up front there would have been a rake. i estimate that im about 3/4" lower all around, and the space is the same from fender to tire all around the wheel and it just looks good.

I have that combo on a 26" tire. Fits great. Not slammed but just right in my opinion
