Question Higher rate/stock height springs

Hey Ya'll,
Anyone kno where I may find a set of high rate, but stock ride height springs? I am finding that the stock springs are a little too mushy <--- techincal term...for my Z.

With all the added weight in the car I need a stiffer spring. I have a 3 inch ORY and my TTS headers are really low (espically on the pass. side)

Suggestions?

I would contact Tirerack and discuss your needs.
I believe H&R springs might be the ticket for you ...

Default try this

I’m not 100% sure, but I think that QA1 makes some stock height, but higher rate springs. If I am correct then check the JEG’s catalog for size and pricing. Maybe one of the other site sponsors carries those particular springs too.

Kev,

I've got the H&R's. They will make the car too low for your use. They drop it about 1.5 inches (or so), but the rates are rather high.

I'd check with ground-control (or Sam at Stranoparts.com) about higher rate springs and the height adjustable perches. You can adjust the car back to stock ride height or very nearly so. Otherwise, 1LE springs would be my second choice. But those have used stock rears springs and have varied over the years to the point I can't tell you what years to buy. So, the GC kit is my best suggestion for your use.

If you need anything, feel free to drop me a line.

Pics of my car on H&R's are on my website (in my sig). It's a black car, so it's hard to see, but it's pretty low.

1LE springs are stiffer, and stock ride height.

No ... you mean his C6?

And for what it's worth, guys, Kevin's car is a B4C ... so it should already have the heavier duty springs.

Are you sure about that? It's a T-top car and I thought Kev said it was a civilian model?

Could be, I guess.

I just assumed that a patrol version of a Camaro would be a B4C

I don't see any kind of shock in your sig. If you don't have better than stock shocks, that's you main problem. You think it's springs because the car just bobs, and flops around. It does that because the ****-poor stock shocks can't even damp the springs you have/control the mass of the car. Adding more isn't going to help.

People always think my car have much stiffer stuff on it than it does when they ride in it and feel how it changes direction and so on.

A car with good shocks will handle and ride better than a car with weak shocks and stiff springs.

Kevin and I had been talking about aprings and shocks in PM's. So, he's not planning to upgrade one without the other. I don't think it was ever mentioned on this thread.

The only B4C's that got any 1LE components were '91 and '92 models.

I don't think you can buy new 1LE springs anymore, but they are around. All '96-'99 SS/WS6 had them.
