Default Let's talk pads

Through searching I have found that it is not so much the rotor, but more the pad that helps in stopping better. Obviously a good rotor is part of the equation just not the most important.

So what are good pads?

Is it possible to get a good pad without getting more brake dust?

With that being said what are some good pads that provide the most stopping power without dusting like crazy?

Any and all info / experience on pads is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads are excellent. You can also get these in a Z-Rated version at AutoZone.

ddelallata, how much are those Performance Friction pads? I plan on buying a set of very, very good-stopping-power pads around July when I take my car to Road America, plus I might get them a few months sooner when I start to auto-x in April.

used to have hawks and powerslots... amazing combo. plan on getting them again. my mother had this crazy idea that my brakes were shot when she drove my camaro cause she said they werent as sensitive as her audis. ultimately, she brought the car to a mechanic who threw in some cheap rotors and pads and charged her 700 dollars while i was gone for the week. the hawks and powerslots were only 6 months old. it was all in good faith though.

Looking at getting the Brembo blanks for rotors. A friend of mine had the brembo blanks mated with PBR pads and he loved them.

Anyone have experience with the PBR's?
