Braking problem??????

Question Braking problem??????

when im comin to a stop say from 50 ill be braking and while im breaking my car starts like shaking back and forth slightly like as if the brake is being pressed on and off lightly i donno if i explained good enough but if u can help pin ponit the problem itll be a lot of help thanks

warped, try brembo OEM or kvr blank rotors, fairly cheap and reliable

if your car feels like its lunging its the rear rotors warped...

try stopping from 30-35 with the ebrake
apply it slowly not hard and coast to a stop, if you still feel it its the rears if not then its the fronts, I would replace them all myself

i think ima replace all of em ive been wantting to get some rotars cross drilled ....any opinions with cross drilled and slotted.........are they the same is one better than the other .......cross drilled look cooler

Actually that wont prove anything. The e-brake on the LS1 f-body is separate from the caliper. It uses a drum inside the rear rotors.

Try retorqueing the lug nuts first. Loosen them all a little, then torque them to 100 ft. lbs. in a criss cross star pattern. See if that makes a difference. I lot of the time it does the trick. If not, try a few really hard stops to see if the rotors have any pad material stuck to them. That will usually get it off, then check if they are still vibrating.

These are all free to try. If they still vibrate you may need to get the rotors turned. Even better would be some $40 Aimco rotors from Autozone and new pads.
