Default Check out the new BMR torque arm mount

SpeedInc has it on their new website. Looks sweet. I'm wondering which is better, that or the more rearward mount. Seems like some suspension geometry is altered, I wonder what the affect of each would be.

Using that piece would not alter the suspension geometry, which is the whole point of it. It'll save your tail shaft too.

Yea, what I meant was which is better suited to help the car hook. I know a lot of people say the rear mount type ie Spohn are very noisy, just wondering if that BMR would do well.

The shorter torque arm will hook better, but there are some people that either:

A. Don't like the noise
B. Don't like where the short torque arms mount in the tunnel because it is a weak spot
C. Don't like how low they hang
D. Need room to work their true duals

I thought of the rear type mounting in a spot that wasn't engineered with any physical strain in mind. You answered my suspicion. Front type for me.

There are a lot of people that run them, but man...just looking at it, I cringe when I think of what could happen if you drag that on something driving down the road. I will stick with my G2 torque arm...I wish I could use it with this crossmember, but oh well.

The only one it wouldn't work with is the LG G2 torque arm. It should work with all others though, as long as the poly mount part of it has the same basic outter shape as the factory rubber clamshell that holds the torque arm in place. I hope that makes sense...

It's not a cheap set up, that's for sure, but it sure looks like the way to go.

I just picked up an older model Yank crossmember
(used, of course) which looks a whole lot beefier.
Which is good and bad I suppose, but I think the
shiny new BMR one looks a little "underwelded". I
think Yank has reintroduced crossmembers now.
I want to use my new one as a base for some added
chassis bracing.

Yank, and I don't think anyone else...the newest design is supposed to be even beefier than before. Definitely looks more stout than the BMR piece, and the price is about the same.

Pics of my new (used) Yank Xmember at:

Slight difference in the construction. Don't know if the
new Yank design is similar, all I see on their page is
converters and busted-image placeholders.

I installed a BMR on my car tonite. With a stock t/a and long tubes w/ y-pipe the adjustment is unusable. The t/a will hit the y-pipe in any but the top holes. Its a nice piece no doubt,no added road noise and it hits better with no vibration.A BMR t/a will let you use some BUT not all adjustment holes, this should be advertised for race or true duels. The top holes approx. place the t/a in the stock location.

I just received my yank crossmember for a m6.This is one stout piece. The
front mount position is not adjusable but was tested and put in the optimum
position accordind to yank.I was a bit leary of bmr's construction also thats why I bought the yank. All nicely powdercoated with a cad plated clamshell
mount. This thing is 3 times beefier than bmr's piece with the corisponding
weight penalty. When you have your front wheels being levered off the ground
by the torque arm,I want this to be the attachment point.
