ABS problems
for the past few weeks my ABS has been acting up, when im cruising along the low traction light will flicker and the abs inop light will come on, then when i put on brakes the first time after the light comes on they pulsate really bad and act like they want to lock up, but after the first time its fine but the light stays on, any ideas??

no i do not have TCS, yes its just the abs inop (and low trac. flicker) and the tires are 275/40/18 all around, also my car was tuned with 275/40/17 on it and everything was adjusted over the factory 16's could the new wheels make a difference?

As long as the tires are all the same size (10% difference in
circumference seems to be where the pain comes in) the
ABS doesn't care. I think the sensors are the best bet, an
intermittent connection or a loose mounting position.

Not to hijack the thread, but will having two different sizes on the front wheels cause the abs inop to turn on? for ex. 275/40/17 on the pass. and a 255/35/17?

1998TA-1991RS,
Assumming you have no wiring issues, I would say you probably have a wheel speed sensor on the way out. Keep in mind the front sensors are incorparated into the hubs and if one is going bad, it will also effect the wheel speed sensor.
JimmyBlue,
The actual difference in tire circumference between tires is 6%, but if you take into acount turning 3% is about as much as you can safely go without setting a fault.
LS1INSIDE,
The tire sizes you use in your example will definately set a fault.
