Default Bilstein BTS or something else.

I am going to get new shocks on my 02 Z28, I really don't mind the stock springs, but the decarbons need to go and the ride seems to be getting worse, even though I have only 27k. I was going to get Bilstein HD's and then seen a package the BST that comes with the springs and shocks for $500. Should I keep my stock springs and just get the Bilstein HD's or should I get another shock or shock spring combo. I only have around $600 to spend. Any suggestions appreciated!

Ooops, meant BTS in my post. The Bilstein Tuned Suspension is supposed to come with Bilstein shocks and springs that work together, but haven't seen many that have it, but they are f body specific so sounds like it might be a good deal.

Wow! I cant believe the difference this system makes! It drops it more than an inch, the ride quility is much improved over stock and there is no harshness.I have speed bumps in the neighborhood and they are no problem.I wish it would stop raining so I can put it through more testing.Do yourself a favor and change the end links out to poly ones.To sum it up you wont be unhappy with this set up.I was lazy and had a shop compress the springs for $25.It was worth it.Hope this helps you decied.BTW there was less than 1/8 difference in l&r wheelwell height.

Glad to hear you like the setup. Post more after you get to put it through the paces. Also, did you do anything else to compensate for the lowering? I have been debating about the whole need for adj. panhard, relo brackets, etc... thing. Not sure it is really needed, but....

I drove it around today to let it "settle" in and took measurements from the wheelwell to the ground with the left side back at 26 5/8 and the right at 26 1/2.front left 27 and the right side 27 1/16.Please correct me if I am wrong but the whole reason for a adj panhard rod is to adjust the rear end to achieve an equal measurement from whellwell to the ground. The only suspension upgrade is the poly end links in the front.BTW my wheels are 16 inch stock with Kumho 255 50 series tires.I will take it in for an alignment tomorrow. If I am offbase with the panhard deal please let me know ,other than that I am very pleased with the BTS.

Nice to hear good results and for a system that doesn't cost a fortune.

I think an Adjustable PHB is to center the rear-end under the car. Sometimes when lowering a car the rear-end might not be centered anymore.

The biggest concern most folks had was not knowing the spring rates. The shocks are just the regular HD's.

Did you find out the spring rates?
