Hypercoil springs softer then stock springs???
Maybe I am just missing something here or I'm just retarded, but tonight I was switching out my rear Hypercoil springs for stock springs, and I just push down on the top of the hypercoils and they were pretty soft, so then I pushed on my stock ones, and they feel firmer then the hypercoils, I thought a lowering spring has a more stiffer spring then a stock spring? Would running the hypercoil springs in the back in addition with my Hal shocks benefit more for 1/4 mile purposes? I am going to a drag setup so this is why I am changing out my springs.
Thanks,
Robbie

The Hypercoils are a progressive rate spring and I think that the stockers are linear. So that may be what your feeling. Have you tried the Hypercoils at the track yet? I run mine with HALs and it's a pretty good street/strip combo. The car cuts low 1.60s on 17" Nittos.

I tried them with my koni/bilstein combo and I cut a 1.8 with ET streets. You think I should try the hypercoils at the track? I want to cut some nice 60fts this season, hopfully some 1.5. I am going to buy the 300# hal springs because that's what the guy at Hal recommended me for the street/strip or just use my stock springs up front if that matters any. GM Muscle, do you have any problem bottoming out on the street with the hypercoils/hals?

If your going full drag you might as well get the Hal springs. If not, I would give the Hypercoils a shot. I don't think 1.50s would be to much to ask with that combo.
As for bottoming out, if the rear hals are set at "3" on the street my 315s will hit inside the wheel well in nasty bumps. I don't think I've ever hit the bumpstops though. I usually keep them at about "6-8" on the street now.

well I am holding on the hypercoils so if I don't like the stock springs/hal springs, I will give the hypercoils a shot, BTW GM Muscle, are you running the isolator in the rear or did you use heater hose?

Hypercoils are stiffer than the stock springs by a good margin. They are progressive front and rear with spring rates as follows:
98-02 OEM (V8): front = 292lb/in, rear =114lb/in
Hyperco Hypercoils: front = 360-580lb/in, 168-216lb/in

Hyperco Hypercoils: front = 360-580lb/in, 168-216lb/in
