Talking What Rotors are best for the money?

What Rotors are best for the money? I need a set and have seen prices from $150 to $800 a set. What is everyone using? We do have a sponsor selling a set for $299 shipped with pads but they do not answer their e-mail and their customer service does not seem very good. I do not need the pads and have been waiting on a price for over a week. I already have Hawk pads.
I do not want a cheap set but do not want to speed the $800 for a set.

I am in the same boat with a pending purchase of a vehicle what the chance that it may need new breaks to meet inspection (but might want to do them anyways). What the hell is so special about the "Power Slot" rotors in relation to something from iRotors (just looking at the price difference and the fact that both advertise Brembo blanks) Sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread. There is duralast from autozone which is what I used on my 00 malibu when I just replaced them last month.

I think the best thing going in replacement rotors are iRotor's zinc washed Brembo blanks.

That is the company I have been trying to get hold of. They do not return their e-mails or calls.

Tirerack has what you need ....I think....

http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brake...lacement+Rotor

I failed to see if they were zinc washed though ......
I was looking at these and wondering how they would hold up i.e. Not warp! Anyone have info or running them?

Brembo blanks and Hawk HPS pads.

That's what I decided to go with when the time comes, based on my research.

I contacted wholesale direct, but no response. The pricing is amazing but I just can't bring myself to give money to a company that apparently has very poor customer service and is very slow to respond/get things done.

Of the inexpensive rotors on the market, the only ones I know of to have good feedback from F-body owners are the ones from Rotorpros.com.

I got a set that was crossdrilled, slotted, zinc washed with the hubs painted black for $225 shipped. I also bought some Carbotech Panther Plus pads for $300 set. They seem to be taking the abusive daily driving very well.

Here's some pics when I painted them silver/black and used a less agressive pad.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/304479-another-painted-rotors-calipers-thread-silver-black.html

I switched pads and also painted the calipers yellow.

Try a search here and on LS1.com
I remember one guy in particular who has had his for over a year now. I'll try and find his name when I get back to my regular computer. I'll post some picture links and their website, as well.

Do you mean that you spent a TOTAL of $300 on 4 rotors and pads for all 4 corners Jason or do you mean that $225 for rotors and $300 for pads?

1) Call iRotors and get their price for zinced Brebo blanks shipped to you. (Tell iRotors that you are a member of LS1Tech - this got me special pricing.)
2) Look at BuyBrakes.com for a price on Hawk HPS pads shipped to you.
3) Research these pads and rotors
4) Realize that this is arguably the best street performance brake combo for the money.
5) Try to find a better deal on these items.
6) Buy the items from a reputable seller of your choice.
7) Install
8) Bed
9) Enjoy

I just purchased the Brembo Blanks and HPS Pads. The Rotors were $120 and the pads were $85. I had the PowerSlots and the front rotors warped.

No, the Carbotech pads where $285 shipped (I was close) for all 4. When you get into the serious pads, $250-$350 a set is about normal.

The 4 rotors where $225 shipped. So $510 for this setup. Now you don't have to get such good pads. These dust and make noise which a lot of folks don't like, including myself. But there is such an increase in safety as well as performance that those things don't bother me anymore. The faint squeeks are the sound of power, baby! At least that's how I try to think about it.

Anyway, that guys name was Honez.

He's had his rotors for quite a while now. There were some other guys, but I can't remember any off the top of my head. I also remeber a lot of f-body owners from their e-bay feedback site.

Here are various pics:

Their main site is Rotorpros (.com) and their e-bay site is here.

Rotorpros do look good for the price. $240 painted is a great price. I think I will order a set.

Thanks for all the good info.

I got my Brembo slotted from tirerack for a good price, also a better set of pads.

Night and day man, you have no idea, I literally stop twice as quick now.

I contacted the owner and asked about sending a money order and he said that saves him some money compared to Paypal. He qouted me $225 shipped for the painted ones. It's only $15 less, but you might try e-mailing him for a qoute.
