Default Lowering springs for TD clearance

Hi all...

What springs should I be looking at for good ground clearance with my true duals? Ill be picking up some bilstein HD's to go with them.

I know lot of people like the DMS springs now, but I think theyre a little too low.
BMR seems to have a bad rep around here.
Hotchkis looks like it fits the bill best, but they might be a little soft.

I may also fabricate some 1/2" spacers between the front shocks and the A arms to bump up my clearance. Maybe the garden hose trick with the isolator in the back will give me an extra 1/4" in the back.

Im really only looking for 1/2 - 1" drop from stock height. My stock springs have already dropped about a half inch, so i figure ill be right back to where I am now, but with much better handling.

TIA

Throw the new shocks on your stock springs and then get a bigger front sway bar. That would be the easiest and best way to do it IMO.

Otherwise, just get the BMRs. The front will sit around where you want it, play with the back to get it right.

^ Bump

The BMR's will give you a nice mild drop without sacrificing ground clearance

There's alot of speed bumps around here and I have a steep driveway and I've never had clearance/scraping problems with the 1" BMR's

i wouldn't do it but have you considered cutting the stock springs a bit to get the 1/2" drop.

My stock springs are sagging about 1/2" to 1" low already. I really want to replace them.

Do you guys think the BMRs are good springs? Theyre not gonna be too stiff? They have some big spring rates... You guys would suggest the BMRs over hotchkis even though theyre both 1" drops?

What about using the hotchkis springs which have a lower rate and put those rubber things inbetween the coils to bump up the springrate and keep it riding a little higher?

Also, I dont want to cut the springs cause like I said, the stockers are already getting soft and sagging. The car has 82K miles despite its young age.

Should I look at the SLP Eibach's or no?

Also, why do people say that BMR = Kmart?

Thanks,

Because they have no clue on earth what they are talking about! BMR is just fine.

I have BMR springs and grownd clearance is good. I think they would work well your you.

Or you could go with a set of Koni SAs for the front and get it lower using the lower spring purch and do the rubber hose mod in the back..

I really like my BMR stuff and I've never had a problem

i have koni sa and hotchkis springs. i am going with a custom true dual setup in the near future and I know I will not have clearance problems at all. your bilsten HD's you want to get will work just fine with hotchkis or bmr springs for the clearance you want and for the tight budget.

$360.00 from WS6store.com---------->

You could easily get the 1/2-1 inch drop from those. Would really suck to get the springs and be too low and tear up your dual setup. 1" may not seem like alot but once you install lowering springs and set the car down, it falls and falls dude.
