Default Question for those with lowered cars

How do you avoid scraping the bottom of your car when driving around?

My car isn't lowered and I scrape fairly often. I want to get it lowered but I don't see how I can do it without damaging the car.

Are you scraping the nose of your car?

Nose scrapes are just part of f-body charm thanks to ridiculous front overhang. It's all plastic up there anyway and that air spoiler can take some serious abuse.

Yup, it is the nose.

Guess I'll just have to get airbags.

If it's just the plastic air dam, I don't worry about it. I just drive over big dips "gently" and go on my way. My car has been lowered for over 50,000 miles now and I've had no real issues.

Avoid speedbumps and really steep driveways like the plague. Mostly speedbumps.

Yeah that air deflector thing under the front of the car is actually made to touch; it bends without breaking. That doesn't mean it makes a pleasant sound in doing so. I converted my car to a front-breather, so I was able to remove the air deflector. Much better; the front of my car has never touched since then.

The best was to avoid scraping is going at hills at an angle. Don't go straight at a hill or those bumps at an entrance to a store, If you hit it at an angle you should not hit.

Since I've lowered my car I've only scrapped once. I'm more careful now though. I take things at an angle if I think there is a chance of scraping.
