Default im having some wheel hop issues but i should not be help me!!

i am having wheel hop issues when i launch and also when i shift to second

i have a moser 12 bolt, sphon lca, panhard, and tunnal mount Torque arm, relocation brakets set on the lowest hole but im not lowered any

i my pinion angle set 3 deg down compared to the angle of the driveline(mesured off the crank pulley)

the wheel hop is happening on the street and the track. im using mt et street radial at the track but only got a 1.83 because of the wheel hop off the line and i had to lift a lil becuase of it

i have everything exsept for hals but i still should not be getting wheel hop like this

i never had wheel hop with the stock setup and 10 bolt

any ideas guys?

thanks

joe

Wimp shocks will let the rear set up a bounce that
keeps on going. But there must be some driveline
reaction that starts it. Could be a lift reaction or
could be the bounce-back off a hard plant. But a
set of heavy damping shocks would be a good thing
(cheap and easy) to borrow and try out.

Other thing would be to try and get a close-in video
of one of your launches, see what the reaction at
the wheel looks like (lift/squat then hop, plant/rise
then bounce then hop, both sides squat or just axle
roll, etc.). Squat indicates wanting linkage changes,
bounce indicates shocks, roll indicates bias (drag bag,
rear sway bar). Or let a buddy rip it in the parking lot
while you observe it in third person.

my dad was watchin my when i was launchin at the track and he said it was not squating hardly at all
he said he just saw it start hopin...bouncing all over the place...and he saw it happen alot at the 1-2shift also

so if its doing this then i sould be good with a set of hals?

thanks for the info

i have pretty much the same setup as you without the relocation brackets.. only I have Hal QA1s on all 4 corners... I had really bad wheel hop at the track with 17" nittos because the suspension seemed to be working so well that the tires wouldn't flex enough for me to launch properly... I got a set of 15" wheels and et streets and the car hooks wonderfully... I didn't see what tires and wheels you were running, but i'd check into that and maybe borrow someone's wheels/tires and see if that will fix the problem. It worked for me.

well i can see how i may get wheel hop pn the street with some 17" f1s
at the track i was runnin 255/50/16 etstreet radials

im going to try out some M&H slicks i got mounted on a 16x10 vette wheel the tirs are 305s so we will see but i know i need to get a 15"tire under there now

i just baught these etstreet radials i ahve 2 passes on them but i would sell them with the rims also i guess to someone

car launches sick with the hals right

yah it launches pretty much perfectly for the power level it's at... but yah, find a friend with some 15"s and slicks and see if that solves the problem...

well i think its different for different cars

i was told the want the rearend side of the lca lower then the car side because when you launch you want it to be level with the ground or thats what i hear
