Default What color dust do ceramic pads make?

i ordered the 299 xdrilled and slotted rotors from the GP section and got the ceramic pads for the extra 20 bucks. I was always under the impression that ceramic pads left a tanish brake dust instead of black. Am i wrong, or did i just get regular semi metallic pads?

hmmm...ok, after about 140 miles my wheels are pretty dirty.
is the ceramic pad supposed to be black itself too? it didn't look too different from my original semi metallic pads i replaced.

Pretty hard to say what you recieved. Once the pads are seated in, there should be little dust. Were the rotors clear coated to stop rust??

i think that would be a problem with your rotors

ceramic pads can squeak when they are cold but should be pretty quiet once heated up. could also be metal shavings from the rotor that got bedded in the pads after you machined the rotors.
