Default Fikse's and C5/Z06 Front Brakes?

Hey Guys,
I have been trying to figure out if I can run the C5/Z06 front brake setup using the Bob Bishop brake brackets on my WS6. I saw a post a while back that these brakes wouldn't fit with 17" Fikse FM5's because the rear bolts of the wheels would hit the caliper. Can anyone confirm this? I have the brackets and the Fikse's right now, and just want to be sure that I don't buy the rest of the brake parts and not be able to use them. Any help appreciated!

Good question, is your offset 38mm Turbo_6? I ask because mine are and I wondered what big brake options I have with FM5's.

The issue is not the offset of the wheel but rather how much caliper height clearance was built into the wheel (Height of the rim hub). I believe Z06 brakes should be fine. Worst case scenario you will need a small spacer.

Thanks trackbird. I'll check it out.

I honestly don't remember what my offset is. The fronts are 17x9.5's and the rears are 17x11's and they are the f-body fitment as purchased from Fikse.

Hey Turbo_6,

Could you post your results when your done with the brake conversion. I was going for a similar set-up and was wondering if spacers are needed or if the brakes would clear etc.

Thanks!

Will do. The problem is, I don't want to get 1/2 way into the project and find they don't fit. I'll likely try the template in the next few weeks as I get time to check things out. I HATE spacers on wheels. I know some have used them successfully, but if I need a spacer to make them fit, I'll just buy a different setup or go to an LS1 setup since I have an LT1.
