Correct way to bang in fender wells
I just lowered my car and noticed that my rear only rubs on the inner fender wells from the tires and was planning on baning them in is there a correct way to go about this, a write up of any sort? and what other things you might have to do.
thanks in advance

Cant say that i am sure about a correct way to go about banging in the wells but i will say that when he threw on his new zo6 tires he had to beat the hell out of his fender wells until they would fit...took him some time and effort and a good size hammer but he did get the job done and man did we have fun after that

1. Take 15lb sledge 2. lift over head 3. swing with all your might 4. Repeat over and over Just kidding. Just lift the car off the ground to let the rear travel down and take off wheel obviously. I used a 5lb sledge and was careful not to hit the outer fender. I beat on it all day but it was still rubbing. I then got out the angle grinder and cut the whole bump stop area out which made it 10x easier to beat the wells in. Just my .02

I have a 18" long piece of solid metal stock about 3/4" in diameter I found at a metal scrap yard.
I use it as a "punch" so tht I'm not banging the hammer around he outside of my car.
Just look where the tires are rubbing and crease the meatl accordingly. You will beat the meatal into the subframe, most likely.
Another avenue I've seen taken is to lengthen the LCAs on the rubbing side just a tad. Of course, this only works if you have adjustable LCAs. Just a tad means 1/2 round. go in small increments till the rubbing stops.
If you need to go 1 1/2 rounds or more, lengthen the opposite the appropriate amount.

I did it w/a baseball bat. First, cut the inner fender w/a dremel or something in 2 places one in front, one in back of where the tire is rubbing. That makes it much easier to bend the metal b/c it is not attatched to all that other metal. Then, use the bat at about a 45 degree angle and just leverage the metal up against the inside of the fender. Then bend the corners of where you cut so that they won't catch on the tire. Worked great for me and you don't have to swing big hammers around your paint!
