Default Umi Suspension Parts

Could I Hear From Anyone Who Has Used These Parts. How Do They Compare To The Other Companies And Also How Is The Craftsman Ship On These Parts?

I just installed UMI LCAs and PHB on a road racing car.
They are fantastic looking parts.

I especially liked the the attention to details. Like the spacers. They were machined to a near interferance fit. Nice pieces.

umi stb, awesome finish and fitment

i have the sfc's sitting in my garage, they also look well done and the welds are darn clean on both products.

umi and spohn are my top two companies to get suspension from.

Hello...

I can't compare these parts with parts from other companies, but this is for the customer service and quality of UMI and Ryan:

My parts:
- Strut tower brace
- Lower control arms (poly/rod)
- Panhard bar, adj. (poly/rod)
- 2-point boxed style subframe connectors
- Misc. bolts and suspension grease

It was a pleasure, to do business with Ryan, even if this deal was a little bit more complicated, because I'm living in Germany and we needed some E-Mails to clear a few points, concerning payment and shipping.
I received very soon answers on all my questions and got some very usefull advice.

The parts were shipped soon after payment and packed very well and so I received them without any damage.

One point to the craftmanship and quality:
Here in Germany it is not possible to change any parts on your car without a certificate of quality from the German-TÜV-association. To get such a certificate, an aftermarket parts manufacturer must send a few parts from the production to the TÜV-assoc. and they will stress them in their laboratory until they break, to test the quality. This is very expensive for the manufacturer.
Without such a certificate, my request popped up to the leading TÜV-engineer in my region... He was very impressed, when he visually inspected the parts from UMI and compared them with the stock parts on my Z28. In fact he was so much impressed, that he wrote a "certificate of exemption" on his own responsibility (very unusual here in Germany) and I will have a date with him in the near future for the final inspection and acceptance.

Please remember: I do not have any experience with any other manufacturer, but I'm sure, they will also deliver good quality. I just can speak for Ryan from UMI-Performance.

Regards, Holger

UMI = very high quality functional parts for a decent price

Used several of their offerings along with BMR and Spohn - now if they would only get that Panhard Bar Relocation Kit done!?

Season's about to start here Ryan - I need that soon

i have their SFC's, and they were great quality, and fit like they were made to be there... They tuck under the car so well, you have to get on your hands and knees to show them to people.

I've installed the following parts from U.M.I./Byunspeed

Upper rod end 'A' arms
Lower rod end 'A' arms
Straight crossmember T/A
Rod end rear lower control arms
Rod end PHB

And the fit and finish is EXCELLENT

Ryan does build outstanding stuff, the quality is great and he's fantastic to deal with. I'll also highly recommend his parts (which puts him in very good company, I'm picky).

I have had their LCA and relocation brackets as well as their adj. PHR for almost a year, and couldnt be happier. Ryan or actually anyone of their employees you talk to on the phone couldnt be more friendly or happy to help. I need an adj. TA, and you can bet im going to be ordering it from them. They make good products at a reasonable price. Its disgusting how much parts cost for cars, but they are down to earth and reasonable. Plus, i have never heard anything bad about any of their products.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a TA is supposed to rotate left/right a little like when one wheel goes up or down and the other doesn't. I've been looking at pics of Umi's tunnel mounted TA and I don't see how it does. The Spohn one will rotate near the rod end/poly bushing but the Umi appears to be a solid one piece there. Anyone know what the hell I'm talking about?
