Default HELP!!! My car feels unsafe.

I have to physically hold the wheel with both hands and fight it on some roads. My car is majorly addicted to crack. I can't keep it from them. I have bone stock susp with 245's and 315's. I know the tires have alot to do with it but it did this with the stock sizes on there also. I drive on one road every day that I can't, no matter how hard I try, keep the car in my lane. It sucks trying to change lanes on the highway also, every bump seems to send the car in the air. How can I fix this?

You need to talk with Sam Strano. I've learned a lot from him and I haven't even bought anything yet. He can explain a lot of stuff and how it (suspension) all works. He knows his ****.

Have you ever had a front end alignment since you bought the car? Not being a smartass, just asking. It's worth the $65

Yeah I second that. Wheel alignment and probably new shocks is in order.

But also your 245/315 combo is probably making things worst.

I've aligned it twice now. The thing is, with the new wheel/tire sizes the handling didn't get any worse. It stayed the same. I've got an alignment rack so it's as easy as finding time to do it. I have it set exactly to spec.

What wheels are you using for your 245/315 combo?

Sounds to me like dead shocks or a broken sway bar mount.

You could possibly have a bad tie rod joint as well..

I suggest going underneath and having a look, tug on everything to ensure nothing is visibly loose... its a good starting point.

$800 for shocks? Holy **** who are you buying from?

KYB GR-2s are like $40 a piece for the rears, the fronts are like 80 something a piece. Good shocks.

Koni SA's are about $700 and Koni DA's are about $800-ish.

Definately worth the $$$ if you got the cash, I just got the SA's

yeah.. i agree, your not going to get good shocks unless you fork over some $$

I should get ahold of some shocks and do a shock dyno plot of all of them... you will see the differences then.

If someone wants to supply the shocks, i can run them on the shock dyno.

Oh....ok. There was a lot of info on that site, but it was pretty much over my head. I'll let you read the dyno and tell us what it says.

Car's never been wrecked and they have about 115k on them. The suspension is good. No worn rod ends, ball joints and such. I looked at them all on saturday.

115K on a set of shocks is a lot! They need to be replaced for that reason alone, not to mention that the stock de carbons suck.
