Lower control arm question:
I think I'm getting ready to do some rear suspension work. I was going to do LCA relocation brackets and new LCAs with poly bushings. My question is, what's better? Tubular LCAs? Or Boxed LCAs?
The car is a daily driver/occasional drag strip car. The suspension is completely stock, with the exception of the SFCs I just had welded up.

Go with whichever is cheaper (I am guessing tubular is cheaper), either will work fine for what you want to do. And if you are not lowered, why do you feel the need for the relocation brackets?

You do not need relocation brackets with stock suspension. You only need them if you lower the car. Their intent is to correct the LCA angle when the car has be substancially lowered (more than 1"). As far as which LCA is a matter of prefference. I have LG tubular Poly/rod LCA, I'm happy with them Umi makes some nice pieces too, but to be honest I would look at other upgrades before doing LCA's.

Is there any real performance difference between tubular and boxed?
I went with tubular just because I think it looks better and it matches the phb.
Relocation brackets will help on non-lowered cars.

I just put tubular ones on mine... my car is lowered and my relo brackets came in today so they will be going on soon as well... so far i noticed much more stiffness and no more creaking and noises coming from the car. I honestly don't think you would be able to feel much if any difference at all between boxed and tubular... I love mine... I have the Random Technology LCA's and J&M Relo Brackets both are top notch quality!
