Wrecked my WS6
I hydroplaned yesterday..thankgoodness no one was coming int he other lane cause I was doing 40 miles an hourbackwards, ended up sliding into a ditch hopping a hidden driveway and coming to a halt in the adjoining driveway facing the home.
So after all this...I broke a rim, the front a-arm..maybe twisted the k-member..might have broken the stock rack and pinion and pulled a brake line in two. Body damage was minimal...as I guss I hit a brick and it flung it up and hit the drivers side front fender and busted the fiberglass right above the little brake cowl.
So...now to the reason I am posting here at LS1tech in the suspension section. Being as I am a gear head and I don't plan on claiming this on my insurance...as I don't want my rates to go up...I am just gonna upgrade the k-member and upper and lower a arms to tubular.
I did a little searching and found some folks with k-members but not both the k-member and a arms. So I was wondering if anyone on here could give me some pointers as what to get and what to stay away from. The car is pretty much just used at the track and driven to work. In two weeks I will be moving to within 5 miles from work so if it rides rough..i dont' really care as long as it steers straight..lol.
So anyways..i appreciate any suggestions that you supsension guru's could give me. I will try to post some pictures of the carnage when I go by there today.
UMI has a nice K-member thats about to hit the market and I'd wait for that if you could. You might be able to get everything from them in a package deal also(k-member, and upper and lower A-arms.
k-member...a-arms, cam, springs, rockers, all the bolt ons I can find, drop the fuel tank put in an intank unit.., injectors..full tune...rear end..the works and last of all..a cage...
