Default 1le owners come in!!

I just purchased a 98 1le w/ 19k miles on the clock. What have you other 1le owners done to maximize traction at the dragstrip?

man....this topic is old...but I want a few more opinions. How should the koni's be adjusted for maximum 1/4 mile performance?

I gave up on my Konis a long time ago for drag racing. They are not a DR shock at all IMO. I sold mine and went with HALs. I love the HALs. Stiffen them up for daily driving and soften them up for hard launches.

I actually sold my Konis for $700. That is a smokin deal, but that was in 1999 (only a year old).

Do you guys get wheel hop with 1LE LCAs? I'm thinking of getting those, cause I have horrible wheel hop. Or should I just go to rod ends?

The 1LE springs are too stiff for good weight transfer. But, to maximize traction, set the rears full soft, and make sure that the rebound is full soft in front. If you decide to sell the Koni's shoot me an email; if the price is right and they don't leak, I may be interested.

My 1LE has never axle hopped on accleration; hard braking is a different story. When I put the 555R-II's on the T/A (with stock suspension), it started to wheel hop on a hard launch. 1LE LCA's and panhard cured it. If you put aftermarket LCA's on, I strongly suggest the G2 race units with the rod end. Poly/poly will bind and screw up the handling.

Exactly what I was thinking. Just needed to know if 1LE was enough. If it's not then it's rod ends for me. But obviously you think it's enough so I'll go with 1LE.
