Default ? for anyone with G2 poly/rod end LCAs

I just put these on about a week ago (poly end on the body bracket and rod end on the axle). These things are extremely noisy when I am just cruising around between 20-40 miles per hour. On the highway and while accelerating the car is fine, but as soon as I let off the gas and coast they rattle like a marble in a tin can. Is this much noise normal? I knew I would get increased road noise, but I did not expect this much. This car is my sole source of transportation and I am tired of explaining the noise to every person that rides with me.

you shouldn't get a ton of noise..

sounds like you didn't tighten down the control arms properly... loosen the bolts up, load the suspension, and then retighten the bolts.. real tight

tightness isn't all you need.. the suspension needs to be loaded when you tighten the bolts

Well, my car is at a shop right now so I had them put the car on a drive on lift (suspension under load) and then loosen and re-tighten the control arms. This did not lessen the noise at all.

I have the same LCA's and they make no noise whatsoever. I would call LG, maybe you got a bad set of rod ends.

Trust me, the bolts are very tight. I like the quality of the product, but it just seems to noisy. I am about to put the stock LCA's back on just to make sure that it was the new control arms that were making the noise and not something else.

How long do those rod ends last? After they wear out you'll probably replace them with QA-1s. How long do those last and are they just as quiet?

I installed poly/heim control arms and poly/heim panhard rod at the same time. They are awesome, sooo much better than the POS BMRs I had before. But, when I got over rough terrain, they wil clunk. But, thats nothing some extra sound deadening can't take care of. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Installed poly end on the frame, rod end on the axle, right?

Mine make no more noise than the BMR poly/poly they replaced.

Yes, the rod end was on the axle and the poly end was on the "frame". I say WAS because I put back on the stock LCAs and it is SOOOO much quieter. I would like to ride in a few more cars with aftermarket LCAs and find out if theirs were as noisy as mine. Even the shop that installed mine (they are a sponsor on this board) said that these LCAs appeared to be louder than most. My car is my everday driver and I probably simply bought some LCAs that belong more on a race-oriented car. I, personally, could live with the sound, but I was tired of telling everyone that rode with me that, "No, the rearend is not about to fall out." Anyway, problem solved. Stock LCAs it is, for now....
