Default rear slides over when doing a burnout?

Every time I do A burnout to heat up my nittos the rearend slides over, just wandering what causes this?
I'm guessing I need to get an adjustable panhard rod and center my rearend?Any suggestions?

No idea, mine's always done it with completely stock suspension, and now with completely modified suspension. Think it's just the posi's we have.

After I do some burnouts and drive real hard for awhile, when I make turns I hear a kind of rubbing noise. Is that the rear moving?? (Stock everything)

Dope has a point, if one wheel is spinning faster than the other it will slide over. The biggest cause of the sliding over on the street is crown in the road or spinning on a cambered surface.

It's natural, there is nothing wrong with your car. It has to do with everything from the geometry of the rear suspension, to the posi ALWAYS alowing one wheel to turn a little fast (that's the nature of a posi, it will never completely lock) to the torque of the motor, to one front brake not holding as well as the other. Don't worry about it moving during the burnout.

How ever then rubbing is probly un-natural

I found that when I held the fronts with the footbrake and did a burnout, I would go sideways. When I installed my linelock (Thunder kit), all my problems were solved. No more sliding around.

Thanks for the replies,I just see alot of other cars at the track stay perfectly straight during burnouts and thought maybe I could make mine do the same.It would be nice to not have to straighten up again when staging. Not that big of a deal.

I have the same problem too...that's why I try not to race from a stop at a light or so because Whenever I get on it....man it just spins sideways and I don't want to sideswipe anybody!!...therefore I'll go at it from a roll most of the time...... ....Time for some sticky Nittos 555R's.....!!!

Seems like putting on a linelock has helped two people so far anyone else?

Another cause may be that one rear brake is holding a little better than the other, but with the linelock, you don't even use the rears.

Most people purpetuate the problem by steering into the slide. Your power steering is actually strong enough to keep the rear stable. Just steer in the direction that feels totally unnatural. Steering during a burnout and steering to correct a fishtailing situation are opposite. It's going to feel really wierd the first couple times, but you'll get used to it.

BTW, a line lock does help, if only by making it easier to hold steady.
