Default Broken Stud off Hub

I took my wheels off today to clean them. And in putting them back on one of the studs broke right off the hub. Does anyone know how to replace this or do I need to buy a new hub? and if anyone has pictures or suggestions I would appricate it a lot. Man it's so nice out and now I can't drive the damn car.

if thats just like the front and the stud is broken hit it with a BIG screwdriver on the stud, hit the hammer @ the end of the screwdriver (plastic part) make sure you use wd40 the stud should fly out if you get replacements place the stud in and tq it until its flush on the inner part of the hub, thats how i changed mine... FYI it wond hurt for you to drive it like that

Thanks for the advice. Do those things break off that easy. Also do you have to take the whole brake caliper off to do it. and where did you buy the new stud from? Thanks

you dont need to remove the caliper just hit it out with a screw driver, if its well drenched in wd40 it should just fly out if u hit it hard enough i bought a new stud from o'rileys for $1

I accidentally broke a stud off the front hub {my dumb butt forgot to tighten down lugs, just had them snugged}. I ended up having to take the hub off and pressing the stud out. I frammed the crap out of it-it wouldn't budge. After I frammed on it awhile, I got worried about bending the hub flange {or setting off the airbag for that matter. I know, I could have disconnected it}.

After beating on it for 20 min. or so, it pressed out of the hub lickady split! Your axle will take more time to remove than my front hub so you might be better off framming on it.

What causes those studs to break so easy, is it because of all the torque to the rear wheels and the metal just warps or what?

Generally it's because of bonehead mistakes {like mine}. Sometimes,,,,well **** happens! It really doesn't matter about the power to the wheels so much.
