Default Where can I get red factory replacement calipers for a 2000 SS?

I was thinking of getting my factory calipers powdercoated, but I was told that I could run the risk of the caliper having problems because it was disassembled, put through lots of heat, and reassembled? Also, its takes lots of time and work to do it right. Plus I took off one of the calipers and I have no clue is to how to disassemble the caliper. I would rather just buy calipers that are already red so that I can avoid anything bad from happening. Not only that, it will save me time, work, and stress. Can I use the calipers alone from the ZO6s? If not, what about the calipers and pads alone? What all has to be use or modified to use the ZO6 components? Thanks

I didnt see anything on the Pace Performance site and the only thing that I saw on the SDPC was the ZO6 calipers. I was looking to get factory replacement calipers in red, but avoid paying the high price of the ZO6 calipers. Thanks

You're correct, I couldn't find them on paces site either. I expected factory calipers to run between $100 and $250 myself....but I never checked. I considered the Z06 prices "reasonable", but that is just my opinion. They are also a better casting and a stronger caliper...only important if you are going racing....

Save your self some money and buy a can of red VHT red paint, brake cleaner and a very small paint brush. 5 coats on each one and you'll be set. I did mine 2 years ago and absolutely no problems with chipping or anything else. Very easy to do and NO caliper disassebly required.

I plan to just get my stock ones powdercoated because it looks like Im not going to be able to afford new calipers. So I need to know or actually I need someone to give me a hand taking them apart. Thanks

Try discbrakesrus.com
They have all kinds of painted/powdercoated brake parts at good prices. They even have calipers that have CAMARO painted onto them!!!

They have really nice stuff, but I didnt see any calipers alone for a 2000 Camaro SS. Theyre really pricey though, but I think that Im going to call them tomorrow and see if they just sell calipers alone. Thanks

Well I have to drop them off in an hour to get them prepped for tomorrow and I have to figure out how to disassemble them. I got them off the car but I cant figure out how to remove the piston. Thats really the only thing that I am lacking. I just dont have the money to buy new calipers, so Im just going to get my done for now. Thanks By the way, do you know of any site or write up on how to disassemble calipers?

The Eastwood Company sells paint for brake calipers and drums.
Their website is web page
Type "caliper paint" in search window, it will bring you right to it. I don't know how good it looks but the rest of their products work and look good.
