Default rotor question

a guy came into my work the other day and told me that i had my rotors on backwards, i could have sworn that i put them on according to which box said right and left, but anyways the are cross drilled and slotted and i have them the way the LOOK like they should be, but he said he made the same mistake, they are supposed to be on there what looks like to be backwards so that the rotor draws air through it. i guess the better way to explain it would be the rotors are mounted to where they look like the passenger side of the older camaros with the salad shooter where the spokes flowed with the car, the guy was saying that the holes and slots should be going backwards to work. any advice would be helpful, not like it is hard to fix but cant seem to find any pics that show the whole car so i know which way they are going. THANKS IN ADVANCE

Accutally, it depends on the rotor. Some go the other way. Just install them according to the box.
