Question Brakes & Anti Traction going crazy???????

Well I got a problem guys. Lately the car has started to do this more and more. What it does at times(not all the time) will act like the brakes are missing a beat per say. Its almost as if the tire isn't on the ground and the abs system is kicking in cuz it acts as if the brakes are slipping and also whenever it does this is always kicks the Low Trac light on. Have any of you guys ever had this happen to you and do you know what is wrong?

I have a truck that will do this sometimes. I've been told it could be a speed sensor going bad. I don't know because I haven't bothered to fix it yet.

I am wondering about the speed sensors. I have suspected mine but c'mon there really isn't anything there. You have a magnet and a coil. It's not like its something which degrades or goes bad over time!

I have heard on this site about people having problems with ABS and fixing it through bleeding the system. The wiring is a mess and I have personally been through EVERY wire in an ABS w/ ASR system.

Maybe the Bosch models go bad?

Ok well now I was driving my car around all day yesterday and the brakes seemed to work fine except almost everytime I drove it that stupid "ABS INOP" light would come on with in about the first minute or so of driving and it did it everytime I drove my car yesterday. Does that sound like maybe one of those speed sensors is bad and thats why its getting these false readings and such. Any input would be helpful

Yeah, sounds like a speed sensor to me. It should set a code telling you which one if it is. scan it and go from there. idk about your particular car, but most of the time you can use a data-logging scan tool to monitor each speed sensor. hope that helps some.

yeah I think me and my buddy who has a nice data logging unit are gonna try to look at what the sensors are doing over thanksgiving break and see if we can get that fixed.
