Default UMI Adj LCA PHB

About 3 months ago I installed UMI Adj LCA and PHB with spherical rod ends, on my 99 TA with Eibach Prokit Spring. Ever since, everything I hit a bump in the road i get a nasty klunk sound from the rearend. At first I thought the PHB was loose but i tightened it up but just moved the axle over, and checked the LCA. Is there something i didn't do when i installed them or what. Any ideas out there??

Torqued everything to specs on first install and made the noise right away, and its been doing it ever since.

I don't have them, so all I have is second hand knowledge. However, I have heard that the ones you purchased will do this, which is why most run the poly ends instead. Hopefully, UMI will see this thread and comment.

Hello,

Are you running SFC's too?

Loosen the lower control arms and Re-torque them with the suspension loaded. A little nosie will be expected on a bump since you have now eliminated a bushing end. However what you are describing sounds to be a factor of a loose bolt or something in that order. Also make sure the jam nuts are tight and rod ends are sitting straight and not twisted to the side.

Hope that helps!

FWIW, he states that he has rod ends. For a rod end a shot of dry lube is about all you want. Adding "grease" to the spherical bearing is a no-no. Best bet is to do as Ryan states and check all bolts/nuts. They should be torqued with weight on the suspension. Also, don't be afraid to cinch the bolts nice and tight on a joint with spherical bearing - you won't be compressing the fitting like you would with rubber or poly. Don't forget red Loctite on those jamnuts once they're where you want them.

Not sure I would use red (versus blue) but as Ryan says, it is expected to produce more noise.
Best of luck, let us know how it turns out.

Yesterday i took the phb and lca off, added some grease to the poly ends, put some lock tite on and torqued them down. Seemed to help a little but can still hear some noise/klunking.
For a street car or daily driver, i dont recommend them.
