What k-member should I buy? UMI's or Spohn's?

There is no reason an aftermarket K-member won't accept a stock arm. I know UMI's arms are made to match, dimensionally, the OE arms. And you can put aftermarket arms on a stock K-member too.

Well, if you order one from Spohn, be prepared to wait a while. A long while. I ordered mine Jan. 31 and it's still not here. I keep getting the, "it's done and it will be in powdercoating next week".I have heard that 3 times now. I have all spohn products on my 3rd gen which I am happy with. Tech isn't. I am going to give Sam a call soon.
From what I have read, BMR k members won't accept stock a arms. Spohn says his will, HOWEVER, I bought a set of Spohn A-arms from a guy off the thirdgen.org board. He didn't tell me till after I bought them that he tried to use them with Spohn's K member and they wouldn't work so he had to order another set. I talked to Spohn and he said the "early" design A-arms wouldn't fit his K member. He did tell me to send them to him and he is going to fix them so they will work with the k member I ordered. What I don't understand is if you can use stock a arms with his k member, why would his early a arms not fit? Anyway, thats my .02.

Spohn is usually over priced for what you get, if you are looking at a road setup, umi's is far superior to anything I have seen so far, I was going to get one, but thier R and D was a long time, like 2 years if I remeber, but look what it produced, a very nice product, if you are looking for just a track set up, or want to see another option check out profab, that is what I was forced to get, I am happy with it, and have had no issues, but you better believe as soon as everything else is done, the umi piece is on my list of things to get.

I've had my Spohn K-frame on since March. It is a very nice piece, very sturdy. I do not trust it so much as to use it as a jacking point though, so I jack the oil pan with a block of wood.
EDIT- I've had it bolted and unbolted several times for clutch removal, to lower the engine. The hardware they provide is BEEFY as ****. Grade 10 hardened **** man. It's crazy.

Some more food for thought...
Look at where you're saving the weight. Sure getting weight off the nose is a very good thing, but because the k-member is so low you're not lowering the center of gravity at all, and you're also not reducing unsprung weight (which is arguably the most important place to be light)
Unless you have a comprehensive weight savings program going on, dropping a few hundred bucks on these aftermarket k's doesn't seem worth it to me. could be wrong.

I went with the UMI setup in the front. Just by looking at the K-member it looked stronger plus I didn't see any bad reviews on it. The main purpose of doing it was for long tubes in the future.

I voted Spohn because I have had one in my car for 5 years now. No problem of any kind, seems plenty strong, holding up to daily driving and the weekend track runs. I to have used the K-member for a jack point without any issues. UMI wasn't out when I put the Spohn in, however I will say they make quality products..as I am using their front brake conversion brackets on my car.
