1LE cars had stiffer bars(32 front and 21 rear I believe) and stiffer springs. Early cars had Koni DA's and later cars had Bilsteins. All 1LE cars had better bushings for the LCA's and PRB as well. 1LE was originally an option on f-bodies for hard-core racers and enthusiasts but was discontinued in 1999 due to low sales volumes. SLP brought it back in 2001.

*ONLY* the 93 cars had 32/21 bars (and that was because the rear springs were different from the later cars). 94+ were 32/19, just like an SS, etc. when the rear springs went from stock Z28 to 1LE.

Bushings, springs, shocks, that's about it.... Only the shocks really, really matter and were something that made the package really worthwhile. My car isn't a 1LE, and I ordered it specifically to use as my autocross car.

You can also check 1LE.net . 1LE Cars also had no A/C and No fog lights.Well... seems like the site is down, but all the options were listed on there. It was a Road Racing package, the B4C Camaro's or Police Camaro's were 1LE but had the A/C Unit.

check this site, hope this helps

Uh, 1LE had A/C. Most SS/WS6 packages were 1LE, which improved their handling over the stock T/A and Z28 suspensions. I believe the 1LE package pertained to the suspension only and did not affect ant other options on the car.

Hey Sam:
Off topic: How much clearance should I have with my new rear (you said wider design) Koni SA and the LCA in the rear?
I have about 1/8inch clearance on the driver side and about 1/4 inch clearance on the passenger side... Is this too little clearance?

I don't have any idea what you are talking about.... Newer design? All 4th gen's have wider axles than 3rd gens. And for the LCA's, stock, not stock? Depends on how you have an adjustable PHB set....

I can't tell you what's too much or too little. Get the axle centered under the car, that's all you can do, and the LCA to tire gap is not the measure of that, the rear tires tracking over the fronts is.

It's just the stock LCA's in the rear and I ordered the 4/3 Koni SA combo from you and I though you said that Koni changed the design for the rear 3rd gen SA?
The LCA just seemed too close to the the shock and I wondered if this was safe or if there is a possibility of the LCA moving laterally (during cornering) and bust the shock?

Double check that. I thought when GM still offered the option (at least in 99) you couldn't get a/c. They offered a option delete credit when the 1LE was ordered. Later on when SLP took over, they installed 1LE components on a regular SS' or WS6's. At one point they also had a 1LE trans mount.

As Sam mentioned, '93-'95 had no a/c. As of '96 a/c was standard, even on 1LE cars. I've heard from salesmen that it was possible to delete a/c if you so desired, but I haven't run across any '96 and newer cars without it. Ordering 1LE did delete the fog lamps. Control arm and panhard bushings and the trans mount were all higher durometer rubber. Shocks were Koni DA, springs were stiffer, sway bars larger. Option was discontinued during the '99 model year by GM beancounters but was offered by SLP starting in '01 on hardtop SS and Firehawk models as an option.

You got SLP's version, which is basically a Level 2 suspension but with Koni's instead of Bilstein's. SLP's "1LE" and GM's 1LE aren't the same.

Nope, standard in '96 on all cars. I know, I had friends try and order non A/C 1LE's a few times since. No go.
