G2 super springs...before and after:
My ride height still seems a little high, and although I've only put about 50 miles on them so far, they were a used set. I failed to actually measure before and after - but I can certainly tell the difference in these pics.
Koni SA's set to the upper perch, rear isolator left in place. I have not had it aligned yet (was waiting for it to settle)...would that make a difference? (particularly up front where it seems I have the biggest gap)

after:
KONI LOWER PERCH/HOSE MOD/G2 springs...(comes to almost exactly 26" height to top of wheelwell opening on all 4 corners)

Looks sweet the drop is perfect IMHO How does it ride/ handle?
Edit: read you have not had an alignment yet, so I guess the "how does it handle", well to its full potential part....... can wait.
Anyway. very nice car.

A friend of mine has the G2 springs on his '97 TA and his sits quite a bit lower than your car does. Could it be the difference in weight between an LT1 and LS1 engine in the front? (Not sure what the exact difference is though.) I'll see if I can get some pics of his TA to show you. His car is lower than mine as well, and I have the Hotchkis springs. You can check out my ride height here:

EDIT: Oh yeah, on my friends TA - He used the upper perch on his Koni's and left the rear isolator in place as well.

It rides pretty firm. This is really a weekend/change of pace car for me, since I have a daily driver... Broken/rough roads are pretty harsh. Even without the alignment though, it handles MUCH better than stock with the Konis. I'm happy w/it so far, but just wondering if it should settle more...or rather how long I should wait before getting the alignment.

I drove my car around for two weeks on old wheels & tires before I took it in for an alignment... Mainly because I didn't have the time to take it in. I replaced the front shock mounts on mine (not really necessary because the old ones were fine, but I wanted to have some around just in case they were bad, and I just put the new ones on) so I thought it might settle a bit... And if it did, it couldn't have been more than a 1/16th. If you re-used your mounts, I'd say that it's not going to settle much. I would drive it a bit, but not much more than a week (or maybe a couple hundred miles) if you're on your 'good' tires before getting it aligned.

I have a new set of tires waiting to go on, but I'm rolling on the old ones until after the alignment. I did re-use the old upper shock mounts, since there was no problem with them when I took them off.
Everyone says that newly installed springs take time to settle - and honestly, I have witnessed this myself (I've done springs on another car or two) - I just have never seen such a variance from other cars. I do have the lower perch on the konis and the rear hose mod if it fails to be low enough for me.

As far as I have seen, LT1 cars generally ride a little lower than LS1 cars stock to stock, so it would make sense for an LT1 car with the same springs to be lower than an LS1 car.
Not sure why though...

^^^ maybe 1/2" - 1/4" lower than mine is sitting now after about 150 miles put on them.
I'm thinking of going to the lower perch on the konis and doing the hose mod in the rear to get the look I want - since it wont affect ride quality w/the same springs in there.
Time to get dirty again!
