Default Did the heater hose mod - car is still at stock ride height, wtf?

I measured before I did the mod, 28" from the floor to the center of the wheelwell. Did the mod - still 28"! I installed a pair of Bilsteins at the same time, but I don't think that would have any effect on ride height. Should it settle a bit after awhile?

Go figure. I did it and got a solid 3/4" drop. I'm about 27 & 1/4. I have Bilsteins too.

Okay... I feel your pain. Try this- check to see that the springs are "indexed" on the perch. They turn a little, and that can make a difference, so spin it around some and try it. Also give it a little time, because they can/will settle. I got a 1/2" drop after a week.

Good advice. I agree, this is a likely cause. Also make sure the hose does not overlap at all.

Yeah, the hose is not overlapped - Which way should the tail of the spring face on the perch? I have them both pointing toward the pass side of the car at the moment.

Stupid question here, is there only one kind of heater hose? If I go to the store I don't want to come home and use the wrong stuff. Sorry for the hijack

I used 1/2" heater hose. It fits perfectly on the spring.

try driving it around. Do some acceleration runs to try and get the back end to squat. I found this out when I put height adjustable QA1's on the front. I adjusted to the ground clearance I wanted, after driving to the alginment shop, they couldn't put it on the rack. The front had settled ~7/8". definately drive it before measuring

Both should be pointing to the driver's side, IIRC - maybe the source of your problem.

I'll have to change that. Can't drive it around unfortunately... 12 degrees below zero and about a foot of snow on the ground. This car has never seen snow and never will. I'll switch the springs around and wait and see if it settles after awhile.

Replaces the thick rubber upper spring perch with a thin piece of heater hose to lower the rear of the car ~ 3/4 of an inch.
