Default Smallest Rim for C5 brake upgrade?

i plan on upgrading my vega to the C5 brakes but i need to know whats the smallest size rim i can fit on them? right now i have 16x7 TT2's on the front. will i have to opt for the 98-02 F-body brake upgrade on my car? because i beleive the vettes are 13'' rotors and the f-bodys are 12''.

I think u r right. Seems 2 me even 17" TTIIs can have clearance issues w the C5 brakes. But thats just what I've read...haven't converted to C5s (yet).

Thank-you! i want the best braking i can get since i do not have power brakes but i really dont want to change my wheels. i was also thinking of ssbc's brake upgrade for the s-10 which is a dual piston aluminum caliper which would be the easiest for me because the S-10 spindles are a direct bolt in swap. so i am still debating.

I feel your pain. I'm currently looking to upgrade the breaks on my 73 Buick Century. The good news is people r finally making the parts. The bad news...$$$$$

Yes, 17's it is to clear those brakes and no, the TTII's won't fit, even in 17" sizes without a spacer (I don't recommend that).

Huh? Maybe I'm missing something, but I have C5 brakes with 17" TT2s.

Are you running spacers? I've never seen a TT2 that would clear the C5 kit without one. What size wheels (17x?). I'm curious which sizes you're running, you'll be the first one I've seen that fit (and I'm always interested in such information).

17X9.5
I wasn't aware of any spacers, but I didn't mod the car. I'll go take a look tomorrow. I did a little reading up on it. TT2s require a spacer to fit C5 brakes, even in 17". I'm as intrigued as you are now.

then its the backspacing.. you must have a different backspacing than the normal TT2's.. because its not the diameter of the wheel but the backspacing..

so should i go with the stock F-body brakes? i was thinking of using SSBC calipers for S-10's here is a link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=011
i dont know the size of the rotors on an S-10 but would it be better to get those or like i said the camaro brakes? i think with the SSBC it still allows me to run whatever wheels i want. i dont have power brakes and the car only weighs 2650 so is it going to hurt me much?
