BMR used to say (like, when I bought mine) theirs was good for
street duty but have since pulled back on that claim, it's gone
from the marketing stuff and disclaimers are in its place.

The UMI piece looks like it's going to take more punishment
because the critical "T" welds on the BMR, are not there on the
UMI and last I looked it had double tubing across. It looks well
engineered to me (and is heavier as a result).

I don't know as you'll get a guarantee out of any of 'em. But
as far as I've seen only UMI claims to be streetworthy at present
(whether DOT agrees, or has any business, I have no idea).

im not saying this because im a umi dealer but i have had a bmr and a pa kmember. cracked them both. the umi unit is far stronger and actualy has more time involved in building one. if you took a umi and bmr kmember and put them side by side you will see which one you would wanna use on the street. noww i dont know how bad the streets are by you but here in new orleans they are pretty crappy. i daily drive with the umi k member and havnt had any issues. one other thing to consider about umi is they way they package there products they will not have a scratch on it when you get it and youll get agravated with taking all the bouble wrap off but it is good that way. by the way my last car was all bmr where is my new one is all umi. both are very good products. any questions you wana ask about umi just ask ryan at umi you will be amased at the customer service you get the only thing is the wait but you cant rush profection and safety. just my 2 cents

UMI was the only manufacturer that offered real users, like me and you, an opportunity to test it in real world, harsh conditions.

Ryan has a couple on AX cars and one on a 4th gen Camaro racing american Iron on the west coast.

Ryan solicited input during prototype from racers and abusers so that his K-Member would stand the punishment.

I have yet to see, hear or read of any of UMI's K-Members fail. And you know, that if one did, there would be a loud outcry as you have never seen.

What about Spohn's K Member? I have their LCAs, PHB, and Subframes on my Camaro and I am really happy with them.
