I just got my car down off the jackstands after 8 months
it appears that the front end sits lower after installing my bmr kemmber and upper/lower a arms. ![Icon Confused](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_confused.gif)
does the k member retain the factory ride height?
may have to adjust the hals!

My front ride height went from 28 1/8" to 27" after the K-member install. Good thing I had the HAL shocks otherwise I don't know how you would raise the front back up?

If Im not mistaken (I'm not sure how to word this) but doesnt the K-member sit underneath the springs and shocks? So if that were the case, its not taking any weight off the top of the springs, therefore cant really see how it would let the car sit higher. Does that make a little sence? heres a pic

I don't know what my ride height was before the install but now the front is 27 3/4" and the rear is 28 3/4"
that is with 165x15 skinnies up front and bfg 275/50/15's in the rear.
I guess I can live with it, I tried adjusting my hals and will have to get a coil spring compressor to do so.

Me and my buddy Neal just finished up installing mine. It definately sits higher. I don't scrape my nose when coming up the driveway. I am glad it didn't lower it, my front end sat way too low before. This is a 2 person job although one can do it. It took us 5 hours start to finish on jackstand in the garage. Pretty straight forward install. We ran into trouble with the rack and pinion mounts, had to leave the rubber bushing out of the pass side, and we had to extend the steering shaft a little from the top of the engine compartment but now all is cherry and my car is now way lighter on the front end.
BUT if your 422 is a 6.0 block, the extra weight from the iron block will make the frontend sit lower. With all my S/C stuff up front my front dropped before the k member swap and now its back to "normal"

Terry, those tires in the back of your car are a lot taller than your old ones. That will gave you more of a rake look. My front is 27 3/4". Those new back tires have to be around 29" tall or more...

I wouldn't want that front end sitting too low. I have a feeling it may lift off the ground on launch and I'd hate to be witness to your bumper getting ripped off.

My front end sat about 2" lower after the K-Member and control arms install. I had also cut the dead coil off the stock springs in an attempt to lower the car by 1". I then raised it back up 1-inch by installing 3/8" long bushings under the lower shock mounts. Now it's about 1" lower than stock.
