Default Brake lines for an AST/TCS car?

Want stainless steel brake lines for my 99 TA? Found some earls but they say to only use the outer four lines for TCS vehicles. Who makes lines that will come with all 6 lines for the TCS cars?

They have a clear sleeve over them to keep dirt and debris out of the stainless braiding.

Sam, what are the indication of worn stock brakes lines, and are the coated SS lines reliable in the long run(DD, 20K mi/yr)?

Right now my stock brake lines have 130K on them with probably the original fluid

When braking medium-hard, the brakes bite great at the top of the pedal, but when I get to the middle of the pedal, there seems to be some give, where the bite of the pads does not increase with more pedal pressure.

Could this be expanding old brake line, or maybe old fluid?

Could be anything. Cheap pads fading (not knowing what you have), fluid fade because it's so old and will have a ton of moisture in it. Probably not the lines themselves. Sure some new stainless ones will help pedal feel, but so would good pads and new fluid. Mostly a case of age of the stock ones, and if you are going to flush the brake fluid anyway you might as well change the lines and get all you can.

DOT lines are very durable (or else wouldn't get a DOT certification).

I also sell Russells as well, but I just took some Russells off a car... because one of the fronts one broke. They fit fine, and were fine for about 3 years, but the coating cracked and split, dirt got in and apparently tore some stuff up. I've found the Techna-fit coating to remain more flexible and be less prone to cracking, so it's harder for dirt to find it's way into the braiding.

That's not to say that any other line counldn't have broken, it's just the only one I've had break was a Russell.

Are the Techna-Fit lines a little longer than stock?

Right now when I back-up and turn the wheel full lock to the right, there is a grinding sound, which to me indicates that the brake line is too short on that side, causing the pads to rub when it is streched all the way taut.

Also, I have new HPS and new Duralast rotors on my car.

They are the same as stock, I have no such noise.... but I also don't believe that's where your noise is coming from anyway...

Is it a grinding sound or a whine? Sounds coming from having your wheel fully turned are commonly related to power steering. Do you think it could be that?
